Port Gamble Reservation Trails

S'Klallam Tribe

A mostly unknown trail through North Kitsap tribal land

Scenery here is nothing out of the ordinary in this outdoor recreation resource just northwest of Kingston.  Similar to the nearby Kingston-Eglon Trail, few people know about this spot on tribal land, but it has trails through the forest and is open to everyone.

Mostly wide trails using unpaved forest access roads, mountail bikers will love this area featuring a variety of unmarked side trails.

Port Gamble S'Klallam Reservation Trail Map

The trail map below shows a detailed trail map and topography of the forested property adjacent to Little Boston Rd.

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Reservation occupies about 1700 acres of land directly across Port Gamble Bay from the historic town of Port Gamble and north of Poulsbo.  The reservation has residential properties and comercial/government buildings, but most of it is covered by forest.  Unpaved access roads through the expansive forest serve as trails for mountain bikers and hikers to explore with little chance of running into anyone else.

Trails are not named and branch in multiple directions, often coming to an end without warning.  All are wide and serve as current or former forest access roads and occasionally a gate will prevent access to a particular trail segment.

All trails are open to the general public unless signed otherwise.  The best place to park and start the trail network is near the library and tribal administrative buildings off Little Boston Rd.  All trail access points and path segments may not be shown on the map, but the larger and more easily discernable segments have been included.

The reservation trails are most appealing to local residents, but anyone coming from further away to mountain bike here may consider a stop at the nearby Kingston-Eglon Trail or the Hansville Greenway trail system further north.
