As the 3D maps illustrate, the road to Anderson Point as well as the parking area are on fairly level ground, but once you start the trail, it is all down hill to the beach. The trail occupies an unpaved road bed that is wide enough for several people at a time. It is suitable for mountain biking, but is not long enough to justify bringing a bike.
Initially you can see downslope as you walk, but glimpses of the water don’t appear until you get further into the park. After almost 3/4 miles the trail rounds its final curve and empties into a sandy area above the beach. Some much shorter segments cross this area allowing you to check out the interesting vegetation growing in the sand.
